Tena kho pana samayena ukkhittānuvattakā bhikkhū tattheva antosīmāya uposathaṁ karonti, saṅghakammaṁ karonti.  Soon those monks who sided with the ejected monk did the observance-day ceremony and legal procedures right there within the monastery zone. 
“Te, bhante, ukkhittānuvattakā bhikkhū tattheva antosīmāya uposathaṁ karonti, saṅghakammaṁ karonti. 
“Te ce, bhikkhu, ukkhittānuvattakā bhikkhū tattheva antosīmāya uposathaṁ karissanti, saṅghakammaṁ karissanti, yathā mayā ñatti ca anussāvanā ca paññattā, tesaṁ tāni kammāni dhammikāni kammāni bhavissanti akuppāni ṭhānārahāni. 
The Buddha replied: “If those monks who side with the ejected monk do the observance-day ceremony and legal procedures right there within the monastery zone, and it’s in accordance with the motion and announcements as I’ve laid them down, then those procedures are legitimate, irreversible, and fit to stand. 
Tumhe ce, bhikkhu, ukkhepakā bhikkhū tattheva antosīmāya uposathaṁ karissatha, saṅghakammaṁ karissatha, yathā mayā ñatti ca anussāvanā ca paññattā, tumhākampi tāni kammāni dhammikāni kammāni bhavissanti akuppāni ṭhānārahāni. 
And if you, the monks who did the ejecting, do the observance-day ceremony and legal procedures right there within the monastery zone, and it’s in accordance with the motion and announcements as I’ve laid them down, then those procedures too are legitimate, irreversible, and fit to stand. 
Antosīmāyaṁ tattheva, 
Just there inside the monastery zone, 

Atthāpatti antosīmāya āpajjati, no bahisīmāya;  (1) There are offenses that one commits inside the monastery zone, not outside. 
atthāpatti bahisīmāya āpajjati, no antosīmāya; 
(2) There are offenses that one commits outside the monastery zone, not inside. 
atthāpatti antosīmāya ceva āpajjati bahisīmāya ca. 
(3) There are offenses that one commits both inside and outside the monastery zone. 
Atthāpatti antosīmāya āpajjati, no bahisīmāya; 
(1) There are offenses that one commits inside the monastery zone, not outside. 
atthāpatti bahisīmāya āpajjati, no antosīmāya; 
(2) There are offenses that one commits outside the monastery zone, not inside. 
atthāpatti antosīmāya ceva āpajjati bahisīmāya ca; 
(3) There are offenses that one commits both inside and outside the monastery zone. 
atthāpatti neva antosīmāya āpajjati no bahisīmāya. 
(4) There are offenses that one commits neither inside nor outside the monastery zone. 

Kati kathinuddhārā antosīmāya uddhariyyanti?  How many kinds of endings of the robe season happen within the monastery zone? 
Kati kathinuddhārā siyā antosīmāya uddhariyyanti siyā bahisīmāya uddhariyyanti? 
How many kinds of endings of the robe season may happen either within or outside the monastery zone? 
Dve kathinuddhārā antosīmāya uddhariyyanti— 
Two kinds of endings of the robe season happen within the monastery zone: 
Cattāro kathinuddhārā siyā antosīmāya uddhariyyanti siyā bahisīmāya uddhariyyanti— 
Four kinds of endings of the robe season may happen within or outside the monastery zone: 

Paññattetaṁ, upāli, mayā bhikkhūnaṁ antosīmāya ekaṁ uposathaṁ ekaṁ pavāraṇaṁ ekaṁ saṅghakammaṁ ekaṁ kammākammaṁ.  (5) For monks within the same monastery zone, I’ve laid down this: a joint observance-day ceremony; a joint invitation ceremony; joint legal procedures of the Sangha; joint legal procedures of whatever kind. 
Evaṁ supaññatte kho, upāli, mayā sikkhāpade tattheva antosīmāya āvenibhāvaṁ karitvā gaṇaṁ bandhitvā āveniṁ uposathaṁ karonti āveniṁ pavāraṇaṁ karonti āveniṁ saṅghakammaṁ karonti āveniṁ kammākammāni karonti. 
Even though I’ve carefully laid down the training rules, they form a faction, a subgroup, right there within the monastery zone. They then do a separate observance-day ceremony, a separate invitation ceremony, separate legal procedures of the Sangha, or separate legal procedures of whatever kind.
