1"Bhikkhus, there are these two kinds of fools. What two? One who does not see his transgression as a transgression and one who does not, in accordance with the Dhamma, accept the transgression of one who is confessing. These are the two kinds of fools. [n.240] Also at SN11:24, where it is embedded in a story and embellished with a verse.
2"Bhikkhus, there are these two kinds of wise people. What two? One who sees his transgression as a transgression and one who, in accordance with the Dhamma, accepts the transgression of one who is confessing. These are the two kinds of wise people."
1"Dveme, bhikkhave, bālā. Katame dve? Yo ca accayaṁ accayato na passati, yo ca accayaṁ desentassa yathādhammaṁ nappaṭiggaṇhāti. Ime kho, bhikkhave, dve bālāti.
2Dveme, bhikkhave, paṇḍitā. Katame dve? Yo ca accayaṁ accayato passati, yo ca accayaṁ desentassa yathādhammaṁ paṭiggaṇhāti. Ime kho, bhikkhave, dve paṇḍitā"ti.
