Of these two kinds of happiness, the happiness without rapture is foremost." [n.303] Mp: "The happiness with rapture (sappītikaṁ sukhaṁ) is the happiness of the first and second jhānas. The happiness without rapture (nippītikaṁ sukhaṁ) is the happiness of the third and fourth jhānas."
