6. Unwholesome

1"Bhikkhus, one who possesses three qualities should be known as a fool. What three? Unwholesome bodily action, unwholesome verbal action, and unwholesome mental action. One who possesses these three qualities should be known as a fool.

2"One who possesses three qualities should be known as a wise person. What three? Wholesome bodily action, wholesome verbal action, and wholesome mental action. One who possesses these three qualities should be known as a wise person.

"Therefore … It is in this way that you should train yourselves."

1"Tīhi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato bālo veditabbo. Katamehi tīhi? Akusalena kāyakammena, akusalena vacīkammena, akusalena manokammena. Imehi kho, bhikkhave, tīhi dhammehi samannāgato bālo veditabbo.

2Tīhi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato paṇḍito veditabbo. Katamehi tīhi? Kusalena kāyakammena, kusalena vacīkammena, kusalena manokammena. Imehi kho, bhikkhave, tīhi dhammehi samannāgato paṇḍito veditabbo.
