1"Bhikkhus, a bhikkhu who possesses four qualities is practicing the unmistakable way and has laid the groundwork for the destruction of the taints. What four? The thought of renunciation, the thought of good will, the thought of non-harming, and right view. [n.767] Right view (sammādiṭṭhi) is the first factor of the noble eightfold path, and the three types of wholesome thought are collectively right intention (sammāsaṅkappa), the second path factor. A bhikkhu who possesses these four qualities is practicing the unmistakable way and has laid the groundwork for the destruction of the taints."
1"Catūhi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu apaṇṇakappaṭipadaṁ paṭipanno hoti, yoni cassa āraddhā hoti āsavānaṁ khayāya. Katamehi catūhi? Nekkhammavitakkena, abyāpādavitakkena, avihiṁsāvitakkena, sammādiṭṭhiyā – imehi kho, bhikkhave, catūhi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu apaṇṇakappaṭipadaṁ paṭipanno hoti, yoni cassa āraddhā hoti āsavānaṁ khayāyā"ti.
Dutiyaṁ.
