"The foremost of my disciples in terms of merit and virtue is Śāriputra. The foremost in the practice of the path is Upasena. The foremost in speaking pleasantly and not hurting others is Bhadrika. The foremost in practicing mindfulness of breathing and contemplating impurity is Mahākātyāyana. The foremost in contemplating impermanence and non-self is Upavāna. The foremost in discussing various topics and delighting the mind is Kumārakāśyapa. The foremost in wearing tattered robes without shame is Pūrṇa. The foremost in upholding the precepts and reciting without laziness is Rāhula. The foremost in the power of supernatural abilities to conceal oneself is Aniruddha.
