"The foremost of my disciples in the samadhi of loving-kindness, with a mind free from anger, is the bhiksu Brahmadatta. The one who has accomplished the samadhi of compassion and its original practice is the bhiksu Sudinna. The one who has attained the virtue of the practice of joy, without any dualistic thoughts, is the bhiksu Samiddha. The one who always guards the mind and does not let it wander is the bhiksu Upavana. The one who practices the samadhi of blazing flames and is not liberated from it is the bhiksu Dhammapada. The one who speaks roughly and does not avoid the noble is the bhiksu Bhallika. The one who enters the samadhi of golden light is also the bhiksu Bhallika. The one who enters the vajra samadhi, which is indestructible, is the bhiksu Abhaya. The one who speaks decisively without timidity is the bhiksu Sunakkhatta. The one who always delights in tranquility and does not dwell in confusion is the bhiksu Tissa. The one whose meaning cannot be surpassed and cannot be subdued is the bhiksu Suradha." |
