SA 3（三） 无知
Thus have I heard: | 如是我闻： |
At one time the Buddha was staying at Anāthapiṇḍada’s Park in the Jeta Grove near Śrāvastī. | 一时，佛住舍卫国祇树给孤独园。 |
At that time the World-Honored One told the bhikṣus: "If one does not know, understand, cut off, and become free from desire for form, one will not be able to cut off suffering. Similarly, if one does not know, understand, cut off, and become free from desire for feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness, one will not be able to cut off suffering. | 尔时，世尊告诸比丘：「于色不知、不明、不断、不离欲，则不能断苦。如是受、想、行、识，不知、不明、不断、不离欲，则不能断苦。 |
Bhikṣus! If one knows, understands, cuts off, and becomes free from desire for form, one will be able to endure and cut off suffering; similarly, if one knows, understands, cuts off, and becomes free from desire for feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness, one will be able to endure and cut off suffering. | 「诸比丘！于色若知、若明、若断、若离欲，则能断苦；如是受、想、行、识，若知、若明、若断、若离欲，则能堪任断苦。」 |
At that time, the bhikṣus, having heard the Buddha's teaching, joyfully received and practiced it. | 时，诸比丘闻佛所说，欢喜奉行。 |
