Saṃyuktāgama杂阿含经
SA 686(六八六) 师子吼
Thus have I heard: | 如是我闻: |
At one time the Buddha was staying at Anāthapiṇḍada’s Park in the Jeta Grove near Śrāvastī. | 一时,佛住舍卫国祇树给孤独园。 |
At that time, the World-Honored One told the bhikṣus, "The Tathāgata has six kinds of power. If the six kinds of power are accomplished, the Tathāgata, Arhat, Perfectly Enlightened One attains the supreme knowledge of the place of the former Buddhas, is able to turn the Dharma wheel, and roars the lion's roar in the great assembly. Namely, knowing what is possible and what is impossible as it really is is the Tathāgata's first power. Furthermore, knowing the past, future, and present mental states and feelings as they really are..." and so on, as above, "is called the Tathāgata's second power. Furthermore, the Tathāgata's knowledge of the dhyānas, liberations, samādhis, and samāpattis as they really are..." and so on, as above, "is called the Tathāgata's third power. Furthermore, the Tathāgata's knowledge of various past lives as they really are..." and so on, as above, "is called the Tathāgata's fourth power. Furthermore, the Tathāgata's pure divine eye, surpassing that of humans, sees beings passing away and being reborn..." and so on, as above, "is called the Tathāgata's fifth power. Furthermore, the Tathāgata's knowledge of the destruction of the contaminants, with the mind liberated from contaminants, liberated by wisdom..." and so on, as above, up to "roaring the lion's roar in the assembly, is called the Tathāgata's sixth power." | 尔时,世尊告诸比丘:「如来有六种力。若六种力成就,如来、应、等正觉得先佛最胜处智,能转梵轮,于大众中师子吼而吼。谓处非处如实知,如来初力。复次,过去、未来、现在心乐法受如实知……」如上广说,「是名第二如来力。复次,如来禅、解脱、三昧、正受如实知……」如上广说,「是名如来第三力。复次,如来过去种种宿命之事如实知……」如上广说,「是名如来第四力。复次,如来天眼净过于人眼,见诸众生死此生彼……」如上广说,「是名如来第五力。复次,如来结漏已尽,无漏心解脱、慧解脱……」如上广说,乃至「于众中师子吼而吼,是名如来第六力。」 |
Having spoken this sūtra, the Buddha said to the bhikṣus, "The Tathāgata has six kinds of power.
