Thus have I heard: |
At one time the Buddha was staying at Anāthapiṇḍada’s Park in the Jeta Grove near Śrāvastī. | |
At that time the World-Honored One told the bhikṣus, "There are ten kinds of Tathāgata powers. If these powers are accomplished, the Tathāgata, Arhat, Perfectly Enlightened One attains the supreme state of the former Buddhas, is able to turn the wheel of the Dharma, and roars the lion's roar in the great assembly. What are the ten? They are: the Tathāgata's knowledge of what is possible and what is impossible is true, this is called the first power..." up to the exhaustion of taints, as explained above. |
After the Buddha had spoken this sūtra, the bhikṣus heard what the Buddha had said and joyfully practiced it. |
