SA 861（八六一） 兜率
Thus have I heard: | 如是我闻： |
At one time the Buddha was staying at Anāthapiṇḍada’s Park in the Jeta Grove near Śrāvastī. | 一时，佛住舍卫国祇树给孤独园。 |
At that time the World-Honored One told the bhikṣus, "Four hundred years in the human realm is one day and night in Tuṣita Heaven. Thirty such days make a month, and twelve such months make a year. The lifespan in Tuṣita Heaven is four thousand years. Ignorant and unlearned ordinary people, upon the end of their lives there, are reborn in the hells, as animals, or as hungry ghosts; but the learned noble disciples, upon the end of their lives there, are not reborn in the hells, as animals, or as hungry ghosts." | 尔时，世尊告诸比丘：「人间四百岁是兜率陀天上一日一夜，如是三十日一月，十二月一岁，兜率陀天寿四千岁。愚痴无闻凡夫于彼命终，生地狱、畜生、饿鬼中；多闻圣弟子于彼命终，不生地狱、畜生、饿鬼中。」 |
Having spoken this sūtra, the Buddha finished what he had to say. The bhikṣus, having heard the Buddha's words, rejoiced and received them respectfully. | 佛说此经已，诸比丘闻佛所说，欢喜奉行。 |
