Saṃyuktāgama杂阿含经

SA 904（九〇四）声闻第一

Thus have I heard:	如是我闻：
At one time the Buddha was staying at the Kalandaka Bamboo Grove in Rājagṛha.	一时，佛住王舍城迦兰陀竹园。
At that time the World-Honored One told the bhikṣus, "All beings in the world depend on the earth for establishment. Among all these beings, the Tathāgata's śrāvaka assembly is the foremost..." Speaking extensively in this way, up to "the noble precepts."	尔时，世尊告诸比丘：「若诸世间众生，彼一切皆依于地而得建立；如是一切诸众，如来声闻众最为第一……」如是广说，乃至「圣戒。」
Having spoken this sūtra, the bhikṣus heard what the Buddha had said and joyfully upheld it.	佛说此经已，诸比丘闻佛所说，欢喜奉行。
