SN22:138 Impermanent (2)

1At Sāvatthī. "Bhikkhus, you should abandon lust for whatever is impermanent. And what is impermanent? sn.iii.178

Form is impermanent; you should abandon lust for it.

Feeling … Perception … Volitional formations … Consciousness is impermanent; you should abandon lust for it.

Bhikkhus, you should abandon lust for whatever is impermanent."

1Sāvatthinidānaṁ. "Yaṁ, bhikkhave, aniccaṁ; tatra vo rāgo pahātabbo. Kiñca, bhikkhave, aniccaṁ? Rūpaṁ, bhikkhave, aniccaṁ; tatra vo rāgo pahātabbo. Vedanā aniccā … saññā … saṅkhārā … viññāṇaṁ aniccaṁ; tatra vo rāgo pahātabbo. Yaṁ, bhikkhave, aniccaṁ; tatra vo rāgo pahātabbo"ti.
