1At Sāvatthī. "Bhikkhus, you should abandon desire and lust for whatever is nonself. And what is nonself?

Form is nonself; you should abandon desire and lust for it.

Feeling … Perception … Volitional formations … Consciousness is nonself; you should abandon desire and lust for it.

Bhikkhus, you should abandon desire and lust for whatever is nonself."

1Sāvatthinidānaṁ. "Yo, bhikkhave, anattā; tatra vo chandarāgo pahātabbo. Ko ca, bhikkhave, anattā? Rūpaṁ, bhikkhave, anattā; tatra vo chandarāgo pahātabbo. Vedanā anattā … saññā … saṅkhārā … viññāṇaṁ anattā; tatra vo chandarāgo pahātabbo. Yo, bhikkhave, anattā; tatra vo chandarāgo pahātabbo"ti.
