And they are unable to bear up with bodily feelings that are painful, severe, sharp, and destructive of life.

amanāpikaṁ phoṭṭhabbaṁ upasaṁharati dukkhasamphassaṁ kharasamphassaṁ— “iminā phuṭṭho marissatī”ti, āpatti dukkaṭassa.   if a monk arranges a painful and harsh physical contact, thinking, “Touched by this, they’ll die,” he commits an offense of wrong conduct.  
Manāpikaṁ phoṭṭhabbaṁ upasaṁharati sukhasamphassaṁ mudusamphassaṁ— “iminā phuṭṭho alābhakena sussitvā marissatī”ti, āpatti dukkaṭassa.  
If a monk arranges a pleasant and soft physical contact, thinking, “Touched by this and then being unable to get hold of it, they’ll wither and die,” he commits an offense of wrong conduct.
