Thus have I heard: |
Once, the Buddha was at Anāthapiṇḍada's Park in the Jeta Grove near Śrāvastī. At that time, the bhikṣuṇī Śāriputra put on her robe, took her alms bowl, entered the city to beg for food, finished eating, washed her bowl, put away her sitting mat, went to the forest of the blind, sat under a tree, and abided in the divine abode. At that time, Māra the Evil One thought this: "The Śramaṇa Gautama is at Anāthapiṇḍada's Park in the Jeta Grove near Śrāvastī. The bhikṣuṇī Śāriputra put on her robe, took her alms bowl, entered the city to beg for food, finished eating, washed her bowl, put away her sitting mat, went to the forest of the blind, sat under a tree, and abides in the divine abode." Having thought this, he transformed himself into a young brahmin, wishing to disturb her, and spoke a verse: | 一时,佛在舍卫国祇树给孤独园。
