At that time, Venerable Aniruddha was traveling with the Buddha to the palace of the demoness in the country of Magadha. Venerable Aniruddha rose early in the middle of the night, sat upright and recited the verses of the Dharma, as well as the verses of the great elder Parayana, and also recited and studied their meanings and the sutras aloud. At that time, the demoness' beloved youngest son, named Pingala, cried and shed tears. The demoness comforted her son, saying, "The monk is reciting the sutras, do not cry." She then spoke a verse, saying: | 尔时,尊者阿那律从佛游行,至彼摩竭提国鬼子母宫。时阿那律中夜早起,正身端坐,诵法句偈,及波罗延大德之偈,又复高声诵习其义,及修多罗等。时鬼子母所爱小子,字宾伽罗,啼泣堕泪。时鬼子母慰抚子言:「道人诵经,汝莫啼泣。」即说偈言: |
