Saṃyuktāgama (2nd)

Thus have I heard:

Once, the Buddha was at Anāthapiṇḍada's Park in the Jeta Grove near Śrāvastī. At that time, the Buddha told the bhikṣus, "It is like when rain falls to the ground, bubbles quickly form and quickly disappear. The Dharma of birth and death, quickly forming and quickly disappearing, is also like this. The beginningless cycle of birth and death is long and far-reaching. Therefore, bhikṣus, you should diligently practice to sever and leave behind all existence. You should train in this way."

After the Buddha spoke this, the bhikṣus heard what the Buddha said and joyfully practiced it.
