Anusayasutta Tendency Anusayasutta → mānānusayasuttaṁ (bj) " Sāvatthiyaṁ viharati. At Sāvatthī. Atha kho āyasmā rāhulo yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami; upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṁ abhivādetvā ekamantaṁ nisīdi. Ekamantaṁ nisinno kho āyasmā rāhulo bhagavantaṁ etadavoca: Then Venerable Rāhula went up to the Buddha, bowed, sat down to one side, and said to him: “kathaṁ nu kho, bhante, jānato kathaṁ passato imasmiñca saviññāṇake kāye bahiddhā ca sabbanimittesu ahaṅkāramamaṅkāramānānusayā na hontī”ti? “Sir, how does one know and see so that there’s no ego, possessiveness, or underlying tendency to conceit for this conscious body and all external stimuli?”
Anusayasutta Tendencies “Sattime, bhikkhave, anusayā. “Mendicants, there are these seven underlying tendencies. Katame satta? What seven? Kāmarāgānusayo, paṭighānusayo, diṭṭhānusayo, vicikicchānusayo, mānānusayo, bhavarāgānusayo, avijjānusayo— The underlying tendencies of sensual desire, repulsion, views, doubt, conceit, desire to be reborn, and ignorance.
Anusayasutta Tendencies “Pañcimāni, bhikkhave, indriyāni bhāvitāni bahulīkatāni anusayasamugghātāya saṁvattanti. “Mendicants, when these five faculties are developed and cultivated they lead to uprooting the underlying tendencies. Katamāni pañca? What five? Saddhindriyaṁ …pe… paññindriyaṁ— The faculties of faith, energy, mindfulness, immersion, and wisdom.
