SA 1312（一三一二） 所断

Thus have I heard:

At one time the Buddha was staying at Anāthapiṇḍada’s Park in the Jeta Grove near Śrāvastī.

At that time, a Dharaṇīṃdhara god with an extremely handsome appearance came to where the Buddha was in the latter part of the night. He bowed his head at the Buddha’s feet, and his body’s bright light illuminated Anāthapiṇḍada’s Park.

At that time, the god spoke a verse to ask the Buddha:

How many are abandoned, how many are given up, how many dharmas are cultivated in the
upper stages? How many accumulations are transcended to be called a bhikṣu who has crossed the stream?

At that time, the World-Honored One spoke a verse in reply:

Abandoning five, giving up five, cultivating five dharmas in the upper stages, transcending
five kinds of accumulations, is called a bhikṣu who has crossed the stream.

At that time, the Tathāgata heard the Buddha's teaching and joyfully rejoiced. He bowed his head at the Buddha's feet and then disappeared.
