Walk alone, do not follow fools. If you want to be in a group follow the wise. The wise eliminate evil, like a crane selecting milk to drink.
Observing the various changes in the world, knowing the traces of the arising and ceasing of phenomena the sages do not delight in the world, while the foolish do not dwell with the wise.

Do not harm one's mind, nor defile one's intentions, by means of goodness, forever eliminating evil, do not worry about following the evil paths.
If a person wishes to refine their spirit, they must repeatedly practice polishing. The wise are easy to carve and adorn, and are then called heroes of the world.
Those who can be close to them are at ease and free from worries and afflictions. Those who have forever ceased and are without faults are gentle and not abrupt. They blow away all evil dharmas like wind blowing away leaves.
Without reason, they fear those people who slander and defame the pure ones. They soon obtain the power of evil, like smoke and clouds blown by the wind.
People's goodness and evil are each known by themselves. Cultivating goodness leads to good results, while doing evil follows the path of evil.

Many engage in various evils, which will certainly become a burden for the body. To practice goodness and spread kindness and virtue, this matter is very difficult.
How wonderful are those who cultivate goodness! Alas, how very evil! Evil is easy for oneself to do, but it is difficult for an evil person to do good.
The foolish consider themselves correct, but evil is not yet ripe. When evil is fully ripe, all suffering is also ripe.
The wise see evil and are not ripened by evil. Just as evil is not ripe, the evil one observes his evil.
The wise observe their evil, even when the wise are not ripe. If the wise are ripe, the wise observe each other.
Although a person commits evil deeds, he does not do them repeatedly. He is not pleased with them, knowing that evil is suffering.
A person who can create merit should also create it repeatedly. He is pleased with it, loving the reward of merit.
First, one should control the good mind and hold the root of evil Because of this, one creates meritorious deeds. The mind is happy with evil.

Or else there are countless changes, burned by fire, the body perishes without wisdom, also heading towards the ten kinds.
Do not say that evil is nonexistent, for what one does is said to be without fault, saying it is without fault in private, all of these have evidence.
Doing evil is said to be with sorrow, doing it for a long time is also said to be with sorrow, sorrow in private is also said to be with sorrow, sorrow for their retribution is also sorrow.
This sorrow is also sorrow for them, evil conduct is both with sorrow, they sorrow for their retribution, seeing conduct one then knows.
